Pashmina is a traditional Persian word where “Pash” means fine quality wool and “mina” means a fabric. The real meaning of Pashmina is a fabric (shawl) made from fine wool. This fine wool comes from the undercoat of the Himalayan mountain goat, called Capra Hircus which lives on high altitude of 12,000 to 14,000 ft. in the Himalayan Mountains. Traditionally Pashmina Shawls are hand spun and hand woven in Kashmir.
